यस्य मन्त्री च गोप्ता च पार्श्वतस् ते जनार्दनः ॥

"Whoever among men, devoted to the lord of the universe, the god, always -- that man obtains boons and his desires, when Tryambaka is pleased. Go, fight, son of Kunti, there is no defeat for you, for whose counselor and protector is at your side -- Janardana [Krishna]."

Vyasa closes his teaching with a twofold assurance: the grace of Tryambaka grants what is desired, and the presence of Krishna as counselor removes the very possibility of defeat. It is significant that Shiva's guidance ahead and Krishna's presence at one's side reveal a single protection of the Supreme over a righteous deed. The verse teaches that it is not the warrior's strength that wins but nearness to God; and one for whom the Lord is counselor and protector goes into battle without fear, for the outcome already rests in the hands of the Almighty.
