आलोक्य गिरिमुख्यं तं माधवीतीर्थम् एव च ॥
माधवाः कुरुशार्दूल परां मुदम् अवाप्नुवन् ॥
एवं वयं जरासंधाद् आदितः कृतकिल्बिषाः ॥
सामर्थ्यवन्तः संबन्धाद् भवन्तं समुपाश्रिताः ॥

माधवी-तीर्थम् एव चmādhavī-tīrtham eva caand the Madhavi-tirtha,
माधवाः कुरु-शार्दूलmādhavāḥ kuru-śārdūlathe Madhavas, O tiger among the Kurus,
पराम् मुदम् अवाप्नुवन्parām mudam avāpnuvanattained the highest joy;
एवम् वयम् जरासंधात्evam vayam jarāsaṃdhātthus we, wronged by Jarasandha
आदितः कृत-किल्बिषाःāditaḥ kṛta-kilbiṣāḥfrom the very outset,

Here Krishna says that even the Vrishnis 'by kinship took refuge' with Yudhishthira. It is telling that the Lord, who holds all power, shows the image of friendship and mutual support: even the strong seek alliance with the righteous. Thus scripture shows the worth of kinship joined to dharma; and what follows tells of Dvaraka's might.
