एष द्रोणविनाशाय समुत्पन्नो हुताशनात् ॥
कवची स शरी खड्गी धन्वी च वरभूषणः ॥
विश्रब्धो गच्छ शैनेय मा कार्षीर् मयि संभ्रमम् ॥
धृष्टद्युम्नो रणे क्रुद्धो द्रोणम् आवारयिष्यति ॥

अनुवाद
This Dhrishtadyumna, born of the sacrificial fire for Drona's destruction, is clad in armor, with arrows, with sword, and with bow, splendidly adorned. Go in peace, O descendant of Shini, and harbor no anxiety over me: Dhrishtadyumna, enraged in battle, will hold Drona back.

Dhrishtadyumna, "droṇavināśāya samutpannaḥ hutāśanāt", was destined from birth for Drona's destruction: fate has already determined by whose hand the teacher will fall. It is telling that Yudhishthira calms his friend by pointing to what is foreordained. The verse teaches that in the order of the world each thing has its appointed hour and appointed hand; knowing that the outcome rests in a higher design, the righteous man releases his worry and sends his friend off "viśrabdhaḥ", with a tranquil heart, trusting in what is destined.
