सो ऽवनीं मध्यमां भुक्त्वा मिथोभेदेष्व् अमन्यत ॥
चतुर्युस् त्व् अपरो राजा यस्मिन्न् एकशतो ऽभवत् ॥
स साम्राज्यं जरासंधः प्राप्तो भवति योनितः ॥

译文
All kshatriyahood honors their glory; but he [Jarasandha], having taken possession of the middle land, pondered only mutual discord [among the kings]; and that mighty king Jarasandha, who became, as it were, the hundred-and-first [beyond the hundred lineages], obtained sovereignty from birth itself.

Here the root of evil is revealed: a ruler sowing discord among kings for his own advancement. It is telling that Jarasandha "pondered mutual discord" — a tyrant grows strong by dividing others, and his power lies in weakening those around him. Scripture thus shows that one who divides for the sake of power stands against the dharma of unity; and next come his accomplices.
