लोक-संहननाः वीराःloka-saṃhananāḥ vīrāḥheroes able to crush the world,
वीर्य-वन्तः महा-बलाःvīrya-vantaḥ mahā-balāḥvaliant, mighty in strength,
स्मरन्तः मध्यमम् देशम्smarantaḥ madhyamam deśamrecalling the middle country,
वृष्णि-मध्ये गत-व्यथाःvṛṣṇi-madhye gata-vyathāḥare now free of sorrow among the Vrishnis;
सः त्वम् सम्राट्-गुणैः युक्तःsaḥ tvam samrāṭ-guṇaiḥ yuktaḥyou, endowed with the qualities of a sovereign,
सदा भरत-सत्तमsadā bharata-sattamaalways, O best of the Bharatas,
क्षत्रे सम्राजम् आत्मानम्kṣatre samrājam ātmānamover the kshatriyas [as] sovereign, yourself
कर्तुम् अर्हसि भारतkartum arhasi bhāratayou deserve to make, O Bharata;
न तु शक्यम् जरासंधेna tu śakyam jarāsaṃdhebut it is not possible, [while] Jarasandha
जीव-माने महा-बलेjīva-māne mahā-balethe mighty, is alive,
राजसूयः त्वया प्राप्तुम्rājasūyaḥ tvayā prāptumfor you to attain the Rajasuya —
एषा राजन् मतिः ममeṣā rājan matiḥ mamasuch, O king, is my opinion;

Here Krishna sets a boundary: the highest glory cannot be attained while the tyrant stands. It is telling that righteous sovereignty is incompatible with evil left unchecked: one cannot be crowned sovereign while leaving the world under the heel of injustice. Thus scripture shows that true authority requires first the destruction of tyranny; and what follows tells of the fate of the captive kings.
