The sacrifice has been brought to its end -- "well guarded by Keshava," who watched over it "until its completion." It is telling that the removal of the great obstacle (the blasphemer) did not cancel the rite but cleared its path: evil was brought down precisely so that the sacred act could proceed unhindered. The verse teaches that the Lord's presence carries an undertaking through to fullness: where He guards, the work will not fail. And just as Krishna watched over the sacrifice from beginning to end, so the Lord watches over every righteous undertaking of His devotees until its completion. Obstacles permitted for a time only set off the faithfulness of the Guardian; and labor overshadowed by Him will surely bear fruit.
