ततस् त्व् अवभृथ-स्नातंtatas tv avabhṛtha-snātaṃThen to him who had bathed the avabhritha bath,
धर्म-राजं युधिष्ठिरम्dharma-rājaṃ yudhiṣṭhiramto Dharmaraja Yudhishthira,
समस्तं पार्थिवं क्षत्रम्samastaṃ pārthivaṃ kṣatramthe whole royal kshatra,
अभिगम्य इदम् अब्रवीत्abhigamya idam abravīthaving approached, said this:
दिष्ट्या वर्धसि धर्म-ज्ञdiṣṭyā vardhasi dharma-jña"By good fortune you prosper, O knower of dharma;
साम्राज्यं प्राप्तवान् विभोsāmrājyaṃ prāptavān vibhoyou have attained universal sovereignty, O lord;
आजमीढ अजमीढानांājamīḍha ajamīḍhānāṃof Ajamidha [and the line] of the Ajamidhas
यशः संवर्धितं त्वयाyaśaḥ saṃvardhitaṃ tvayāthe glory has been increased by you;
आपृच्छामो नर-व्याघ्रāpṛcchāmo nara-vyāghrawe take our leave, O tiger among men,
सर्व-कामैः सु-पूजिताःsarva-kāmaiḥ su-pūjitāḥwell honored with every desired [gift];
स्व-राष्ट्राणि गमिष्यामस्sva-rāṣṭrāṇi gamiṣyāmaswe shall go to our own kingdoms;
तद् अनुज्ञातुम् अर्हसिtad anujñātum arhasibe pleased to grant your leave for that".

The kings depart in peace, praising their host: an assembly that had all but erupted into war ends in harmony. It is telling that once the troublemaker was removed, the enmity settled by itself -- one rotten link had poisoned all, and with its removal concord took its place. The verse teaches that the discord of many is often fed by a single source of malice; cut that off, and the rest, left to their own good nature, make peace. And the parting of the kings, "well honored," shows what the assembly would have been without the blasphemer: not a field of battle but a celebration of unity. A guest departs with blessings when the host is righteous and the troublemaker has been removed.
