एहि एहि इति तम् आहुतयः सुवर्चसः सूर्यस्य रश्मिभिः यजमानं वहन्ति ।
प्रियां वाचम् अभिवदन्त्यः अर्चयन्त्यः एष वः पुण्यः सुकृतः ब्रह्मलोकः ॥

"'Come! Come!' [they call] to him — his radiant offerings — and carry the sacrificer on the rays of the sun, speaking sweet words to him and doing him honour: 'This is your holy world of Brahmā, won by good deeds!'"

The apotheosis of the path of karma — the welcome in heaven. ehy ehīti — "come, come!" — the sacrificer's own offerings call to him: suvarcasaḥ — "radiant", they have become beings of light and greet their giver as one of their own; priyāṁ vācam abhivadantyaḥ arcayantyaḥ — "speaking kindly words and doing honour": what was given away returns with interest of tenderness — the universe is courteous to the generous.
eṣa vaḥ puṇyaḥ sukṛto brahmalokaḥ — "this is your holy world of Brahmā, made by good deeds". Every word of the greeting has a double bottom: puṇya — holy, yes; but sukṛta — made: what is made has a term of service (na asti akṛtaḥ kṛtena — "the unmade is not got by the made", verse 21 will say, precisely of this). Even a "world of Brahmā" is here the fruit of merits — a lofty abode, but a created one.
The Upaniṣad has let the path of karma sing to its last note — down to the heavenly voices "come, come". All of it is true: the rays, the honour, the bliss. One thing the sweet voices cannot give — eternity. The next verse will cut the music short with a single word: plavāḥ — "rafts".
