वेदान्तविज्ञानसुनिश्चितार्थाः संन्यासयोगात् यतयः शुद्धसत्त्वाः ।
ते ब्रह्मलोकेषु परान्तकाले परामृताः परिमुच्यन्ति सर्वे ॥

The ascetics who have settled the meaning by the knowledge of Vedānta, whose being is purified by the yoga of renunciation — all of them, in the worlds of Brahman, at the hour of the final end, wholly free, attain the supreme immortality.

The verse from which the tradition took the very word "Vedānta". vedānta-vijñāna-suniścitārthāḥ — "having firmly settled the meaning by the knowledge of Vedānta": vedānta is "the end of the Vedas", their summit and aim: the Upaniṣads; su-niścita-artha — "with the meaning soundly ascertained": not well-read but settled: the truth has been carried through doubt into certainty. saṁnyāsa-yogāt śuddha-sattvāḥ — "pure in being through the yoga of renunciation": saṁnyāsa is the laying down of one's appropriations: "mine" is handed back to the Owner.
te brahma-lokeṣu parānta-kāle — "they, in the worlds of Brahman, at the hour of the final end": established in the highest abodes, at the consummation of times (parānta-kāla — the close of the world's kalpa, or the last hour of the path) — parāmṛtāḥ parimucyanti sarve — "all are wholly freed, [entering] the supreme immortality": pari-√muc — release on every side, without remainder and without return.
The two terms of this closing verse — knowledge carried to certainty, and renunciation carried to purity — will become the two wings of all later Vedānta. And both wings, remember the Muṇḍaka, carry toward what it has named above: to the Puruṣa who chooses the one who loves, to the Light of lights. Vedānta is no school of argument: it is the science of arrival.
