परित्यजध्वं राजानं कुन्तीपुत्रं युधिष्ठिरम् ॥
अथ तत्रैव वा तेषां निवासं रोचयन्तु ते ॥
इहैषां दोषवद् वासं वर्णयन्तु पृथक् पृथक् ॥
ते भिद्यमानास् तत्रैव मनः कुर्वन्तु पाण्डवाः ॥

Here treachery aims at the very heart — the brothers' unity. It is telling that Duryodhana wants to turn the younger ones away from Yudhishthira and keep them at a distance: to destroy reverence for the elder and scatter the brothers. Here we see the truth that untruth's worst blow falls on the concord of those who love, for their strength lies in unity. Thus the text reveals the plot against brotherly harmony; and the Pandavas' fortress is their unbreakable union.
