श्रुत्वा तस्य त्वरिता निर्विशङ्काः; प्राज्ञा दक्षास् तां तथा चक्रुर् आशु ॥
सर्वद्रव्याण्य् उपजह्रुः सभायां; सहस्रशः शिल्पिनश् चापि युक्ताः ॥
कालेनाल्पेनाथ निष्ठां गतां तां; सभां रम्यां बहुरत्नां विचित्राम् ॥
चित्रैर् हैमैर् आसनैर् अभ्युपेताम्; आचख्युस् ते तस्य राज्ञः प्रतीताः ॥
śrutvā tasya tvaritā nirviśaṅkāḥ; prājñā dakṣās tāṃ tathā cakrur āśu ||
sarvadravyāṇy upajahruḥ sabhāyāṃ; sahasraśaḥ śilpinaś cāpi yuktāḥ ||
kālenālpenātha niṣṭhāṃ gatāṃ tāṃ; sabhāṃ ramyāṃ bahuratnāṃ vicitrām ||
citrair haimair āsanair abhyupetām; ācakhyus te tasya rājñaḥ pratītāḥ ||
Hearing this, the hasty and unhesitating, wise and skillful craftsmen quickly did just so; thousands of appointed artisans brought all the materials into the hall. And in a short time, the hall having come to completion — beautiful, richly bejeweled, resplendent, furnished with resplendent golden seats — they, rejoicing, announced it to that king.

The hall for the fateful deed is raised quickly and readily — "without hesitation." It is telling how easily the instruments of evil are found — hands are swift when a matter tends toward ruin and conscience is silent. The verse teaches that the willingness of those who carry it out does not justify the design: diligence poured into a wicked undertaking only hastens disaster. The splendor and speed of the building do not sanctify its purpose — a beautiful hall is raised for a dishonest game. And the "rejoicing" messengers do not know what they serve: often the servants of a great evil are innocent of the design, yet still bring it to fruition. The speed with which wrong is set up is not a virtue but merely a measure of how unimpeded the world rolls toward calamity when the ruling will is clouded.
