कर्णिनालीकनाराचा निर्हरन्ति शरीरतः ॥
वाक्शल्यस् तु न निर्हर्तुं शक्यो हृदिशयो हि सः ॥
वाक्सायका वदनान् निष्पतन्ति; यैर् आहतः शोचति रात्र्यहानि ॥
परस्य नामर्मसु ते पतन्ति; तान् पण्डितो नावसृजेत् परेषु ॥
यस्मै देवाः प्रयच्छन्ति पुरुषाय पराभवम् ॥
बुद्धिं तस्यापकर्षन्ति सो ऽपाचीनानि पश्यति ॥
बुद्धौ कलुषभूतायां विनाशे प्रत्युपस्थिते ॥
अनयो नयसंकाशो हृदयान् नापसर्पति ॥
सेयं बुद्धिः परीता ते पुत्राणां तव भारत ॥
पाण्डवानां विरोधेन न चैनाम् अवबुध्यसे ॥

vākśalyas tu na nirhartuṃ śakyo hṛdiśayo hi saḥ ||
vāksāyakā vadanān niṣpatanti; yair āhataḥ śocati rātryahāni ||

yasmai devāḥ prayacchanti puruṣāya parābhavam ||
buddhiṃ tasyāpakarṣanti so 'pācīnāni paśyati ||
buddhau kaluṣabhūtāyāṃ vināśe pratyupasthite ||
anayo nayasaṃkāśo hṛdayān nāpasarpati ||
seyaṃ buddhiḥ parītā te putrāṇāṃ tava bhārata ||
pāṇḍavānāṃ virodhena na cainām avabudhyase ||
Endowed with all auspicious marks and worthy to rule the three worlds, Yudhishthira is obedient to your commands. Let him, O Dhritarashtra, rule the earth, to the exclusion of all your sons.
