राजा लक्षणसंपन्नस् त्रैलोक्यस्यापि यो भवेत् ॥
शिष्यस् ते शासिता सो ऽस्तु धृतराष्ट्र युधिष्ठिरः ॥
अतीव सर्वान् पुत्रांस् ते भागधेयपुरस्कृतः ॥
तेजसा प्रज्ञया चैव युक्तो धर्मार्थतत्त्ववित् ॥
आनृशंस्याद् अनुक्रोशाद् यो ऽसौ धर्मभृतां वरः ॥
गौरवात् तव राजेन्द्र बहून् क्लेशांस् तितिक्षति ॥

rājā lakṣaṇasaṃpannas trailokyasyāpi yo bhavet ||
śiṣyas te śāsitā so 'stu dhṛtarāṣṭra yudhiṣṭhiraḥ ||
atīva sarvān putrāṃs te bhāgadheyapuraskṛtaḥ ||
tejasā prajñayā caiva yukto dharmārthatattvavit ||
ānṛśaṃsyād anukrośād yo 'sau dharmabhṛtāṃ varaḥ ||
gauravāt tava rājendra bahūn kleśāṃs titikṣati ||

Traducción

Endowed with all auspicious marks and worthy to rule the three worlds, Yudhishthira is obedient to your commands. Let him, O Dhritarashtra, rule the earth, to the exclusion of all your sons. Yudhishthira is the best of all your heirs. Endowed with energy and wisdom, versed in the truths of religion and gain, Yudhishthira, the greatest among the righteous, O king of kings, has endured much suffering out of kindness and compassion, in order to preserve his good name.
