योगिनां परमं ब्रह्म व्यक्तं ब्रह्मविदां निधिम् ॥
चराचरस्य स्रष्टारं प्रतिहर्तारम् एव च ॥
कालकोपं महात्मानं शक्रसूर्यगुणोदयम् ॥
अवन्दत तदा कृष्णो वाङ्मनोबुद्धिकर्मभिः ॥

अनुवाद
Krishna then honored with speech, mind, intellect, and deed the supreme Brahman of yogins, the manifest treasury of the knowers of Brahman, the creator of the moving and the unmoving and its destroyer; him whose wrath is Time itself, great of soul, in whom rise the qualities of Shakra and Surya.

Krishna honors Shiva 'vanmanobuddhikarmabhih,' 'with speech, mind, intellect, and deed' -- with his whole being, without reserve. The hymn beholds in Shiva both creator and destroyer 'characarasya,' of the moving and the unmoving, for in him the supreme principle manifests itself. It is telling that worship of the Lord is total: not with the lips alone, but with thought and deed as well. The verse teaches the fullness of worship: one must honor not with a part of oneself but with all -- word, mind, intellect, and deed; and Krishna Himself shows how such whole-hearted worship is performed, leaving no faculty of the soul aside.
