देवनागरी
नमः सहस्रशिरसे सहस्रभुजमन्यवे ॥
सहस्रनेत्रपादाय नमो ऽसंख्येयकर्मणे ॥
नमो हिरण्यवर्णाय हिरण्यकवचाय च ॥
भक्तानुकम्पिने नित्यं सिध्यतां नौ वरः प्रभो ॥

namaḥ sahasraśirase sahasrabhujamanyave ||
sahasranetrapādāya namo 'saṃkhyeyakarmaṇe ||
namo hiraṇyavarṇāya hiraṇyakavacāya ca ||
bhaktānukampine nityaṃ sidhyatāṃ nau varaḥ prabho ||

नमः असंख्येयकर्मणेnamaḥ asaṃkhyeyakarmaṇehomage to [him] whose deeds are countless; homage to the one of countless deeds
नमः हिरण्यवर्णायnamaḥ hiraṇyavarṇāyahomage to the golden-hued one; homage to the golden-hued one
हिरण्यकवचाय चhiraṇyakavacāya caand to the golden-armored one; and to the golden-armored one
भक्तानुकम्पिने नित्यम्bhaktānukampine nityamever compassionate to devotees; eternally merciful to devotees
सिध्यताम् नौ वरः प्रभोsidhyatām nau varaḥ prabhomay our gift [request] be fulfilled, O lord; may our gift be fulfilled, O lord
अनुवाद
"Homage to the thousand-headed one, the thousand-armed one, [full] of fury, the thousand-eyed and thousand-footed one, homage to [him] whose deeds are countless! Homage to the golden-hued one and the golden-armored one, ever compassionate to devotees; may our request be fulfilled, O lord!"

The hymn is crowned by the chief hope: "bhaktānukampine nityam", "ever compassionate to devotees", and the plea "sidhyatāṃ nau varaḥ", "may our request be fulfilled." It is telling that after all the cosmic names -- thousand-headed, of countless deeds -- what is named last and decisively is not the vastness of His might, but His mercy toward devotees. The verse teaches that what matters most in God for the believer is not the immensity of His greatness, but His compassion for devotees: it is to this that every prayer calls out; and the one who praises rests his hope not on the might of the one revered, but on His unfailing mercy toward those devoted to Him.
