स्मर्थं राजेन्द्र संह्येद् दि केवः
रामो वाप्य् निरुद्धो वा प्रद्युम्नो वा हाथः
दो वा साणो वापि साम्बो वा वृष्णिभिः
हायार्थं हारा संग्रामोत्तमूर्धनि
थाप्य् हं व्याघ्रं शैनेयं त्यविक्रमम्
साहाय्ये विनियोक्ष्यामि नास्ति मे ऽन्यो हि त्समः
ति द्वैने ता माम् वा नंयः
रोक्षं त्वद्गुणांस् थ्यान् यन्न् र्यसंदि

tathāpy ahaṃ naravyāghraṃ śaineyaṃ satyavikramam ||
yye viniyokṣyāmi sti me 'nyo hi tatsamaḥ ||
iti dvaitavane ta m uca dhanaṃjayaḥ ||
parokṣaṃ tvadguṇāṃs tathyān kathayann āryasaṃsadi ||

संनह्येत् यदि केशवःsaṃnahyet yadi keśavaḥif Keshava were to arm himself; if Keshava were to prepare for battle
रामः वा अपि अनिरुद्धः वाrāmaḥ vā api aniruddhaḥ vāor Rama, or Aniruddha; or Rama [Balarama], or Aniruddha
प्रद्युम्नः वा महारथःpradyumnaḥ vā mahārathaḥor Pradyumna, the great warrior; or Pradyumna, the maharatha
गदः वा सारणः वा अपिgadaḥ vā sāraṇaḥ vā apior Gada, or Sarana; or Gada, or Sarana
साम्बः वा सह वृष्णिभिःsāmbaḥ vā saha vṛṣṇibhiḥor Samba, with the Vrishnis; or Samba, together with the Vrishnis
सहायार्थम् महाराजsahāyārtham mahārājafor the sake of help, O great king; for the sake of aid, O great king
संग्रामोत्तममूर्धनिsaṃgrāmottamamūrdhani[at] the forefront of the greatest battle; in the very thick of the greatest battle
तथा अपि अहम् नरव्याघ्रम्tathā api aham naravyāghramand even then I, the tiger among men; still I, the tiger among men
शैनेयम् सत्यविक्रमम्śaineyam satyavikramamdescendant of Shini, truly valiant; Shaineya, truly valiant
साहाय्ये विनियोक्ष्यामिsāhāyye viniyokṣyāmiwould appoint [to] the help; would set to the task of aid
न अस्ति मे अन्यः हिna asti me anyaḥ hifor I have no other; for there is no other for me
तत्समःtatsamaḥequal to him; [no one] equal to him
इति द्वैतवने तातiti dvaitavane tātathus in Dvaitavana, O venerable one; thus in [the forest of] Dvaitavana, O dear one
माम् उवाच धनंजयःmām uvāca dhanaṃjayaḥDhananjaya said to me; Dhananjaya spoke to me
परोक्षम् त्वद्गुणान् तथ्यान्parokṣam tvadguṇān tathyānin [your] absence your true merits; in absentia your true qualities
कथयन् आर्यसंसदिkathayan āryasaṃsadiexpounding in the assembly of the noble; proclaiming in the assembly of the worthy
अनुवाद

"'And for our sake, O lord of kings, even if Keshava, or Rama [Balarama], or Aniruddha, or Pradyumna the great warrior, or Gada, or Sarana, or Samba, along with the Vrishnis, were to arm for help, O great king, at the forefront of the greatest battle — even then I would appoint to my aid the tiger among men, the descendant of Shini, truly valiant; for I have no other equal to him.' Thus, in Dvaitavana, O venerable one, Dhananjaya spoke to me, setting forth your true merits in your absence, before the assembly of the noble."
