एते हि बहवः सूत दुर्निवार्याश् च संयुगे ॥
दुर्योधनसमादिष्टा मदर्थे त्यक्तजीविताः ॥
राजपुत्रा महेष्वासाः सर्वे विक्रान्तयोधिनः ॥
त्रिगर्तानां रथोदाराः सुवर्णविकृतध्वजाः ॥
माम् एवाभिमुखा वीरा योत्स्यमाना व्यवस्थिताः ॥
अत्र मां प्रापय क्षिप्रम् अश्वांश् चोदय सारथे ॥
त्रिगर्तैः सह योत्स्यामि भारद्वाजस्य पश्यतः ॥

ete hi bahavaḥ sūta durnivāryāś ca saṃyuge ||
duryodhanasamādiṣṭā madarthe tyaktajīvitāḥ ||
rājaputrā maheṣvāsāḥ sarve vikrāntayodhinaḥ ||
trigartānāṃ rathodārāḥ suvarṇavikṛtadhvajāḥ ||
mām evābhimukhā vīrā yotsyamānā vyavasthitāḥ ||
atra māṃ prāpaya kṣipram aśvāṃś codaya sārathe ||
trigartaiḥ saha yotsyāmi bhāradvājasya paśyataḥ ||

शब्दशः अर्थ

एते हि बहवः सूतete hi bahavaḥ sūtathese indeed are many, charioteer; these, charioteer, are numerous
दुर्निवार्याः च संयुगेdurnivāryāḥ ca saṃyugeand hard to hold back in battle; and hard to withstand in the fight
दुर्योधनसमादिष्टाःduryodhanasamādiṣṭāḥsent by Duryodhana; commanded by Duryodhana
मदर्थे त्यक्तजीविताःmadarthe tyaktajīvitāḥhaving renounced life for my sake; who have given up their lives for my sake
त्रिगर्तानाम् रथोदाराःtrigartānām rathodārāḥthe excellent warriors of the Trigartas; the valorous warriors of the Trigartas
सुवर्णविकृतध्वजाःsuvarṇavikṛtadhvajāḥ[with] banners adorned with gold; with gold-worked standards
माम् एव अभिमुखाः वीराःmām eva abhimukhāḥ vīrāḥ[facing] me, the heroes; the heroes, turned toward me
योत्स्यमानाः व्यवस्थिताःyotsyamānāḥ vyavasthitāḥstand [ready] to fight; stand arrayed, ready for battle
अत्र माम् प्रापय क्षिप्रम्atra mām prāpaya kṣiprambring me there quickly; convey me there swiftly
अश्वान् चोदय सारथेaśvān codaya sāratheurge on the horses, charioteer; drive on the horses, charioteer
त्रिगर्तैः सह योत्स्यामिtrigartaiḥ saha yotsyāmiI shall fight together [with] the Trigartas; I will fight the Trigartas
भारद्वाजस्य पश्यतःbhāradvājasya paśyataḥ[while] the son of Bharadvaja watches; before the eyes of the son of Bharadvaja
अनुवाद

"These, charioteer, are indeed many, and hard to hold back in battle, sent by Duryodhana, having renounced life for my sake — the excellent warriors of the Trigartas [with] banners adorned with gold, [facing] me, the heroes stand [ready] to fight. Bring me there quickly, urge on the horses, charioteer: I shall fight [with] the Trigartas [while] the son of Bharadvaja watches."
