The great spear flying toward him, hurled by your son, Bhima cut in two — it seemed a wonder. Then with other sharp arrows, enraged, he slew Kundabhedin, Sushena, and Dirghanetra — three with three, the mighty one. Then he slew again Vrindaraka, the hero who increased the glory of the Kurus, from among your heroic sons still fighting.

Bhima fulfills his vow, destroying the sons of Dhritarashtra one by one: the oath sworn in the assembly hall is carried into deed. It is telling that retribution for the outrage against Draupadi comes by the very hand that swore it. The verse teaches that falsehood sown in an assembly is reaped on the battlefield: those who mocked a defenseless woman perish by the hand of the one who vowed vengeance, and the oath of truth is fulfilled without fail.
