तथा भीष्मः शांतनवः कौरवैः सह सर्वशः ॥
कुशलं त्वां महाप्राज्ञः सर्वतः परिपृच्छति ॥
भारद्वाजो महेष्वासो द्रोणः प्रियसखस् तव ॥
समाश्लेषम् उपेत्य त्वां कुशलं परिपृच्छति ॥

Here even Drona, once an adversary, sends greetings as a friend. It is telling that Drona is called Drupada's "dear friend": reconciliation heals even old enmity, turning it into friendship. This shows that a good alliance dissolves former discord. Thus scripture displays the power of reconciliation; and Drona's greeting marks the healing of a long-standing wound.
