दृष्ट्वैव ताम् अर्जुनस्य कन्दर्पः समजायत ॥
तं तथैकाग्रमनसं कृष्णः पार्थम् अलक्षयत् ॥
अथाब्रवीत् पुष्कराक्षः प्रहसन्न् इव भारत ॥
वनेचरस्य किम् इदं कामेनालोड्यते मनः ॥

taṃ tathaikāgramanasaṃ kṛṣṇaḥ pārtham alakṣayat ||
athābravīt puṣkarākṣaḥ prahasann iva bhārata ||
vanecarasya kim idaṃ kāmenāloḍyate manaḥ ||

Translation
Krishna said: "The moment he saw her, love was born in Arjuna; Krishna noticed Partha thus so single-mindedly absorbed; and the lotus-eyed one said, as if smiling, 'What is this — has the mind of the forest-wanderer been stirred by love?'"

Here the Lord reads what is hidden in his friend's heart. It is significant that Krishna at once notices Arjuna's agitation and speaks with a loving smile: the Lord knows the devotee's thoughts before his words. The knower of hearts perceives the secret desires of His own. Thus scripture shows Krishna's omniscience regarding his friend; and His playful word opens the way to the fulfillment of Arjuna's desire.
