प्रययौ पुण्डरीकाक्षः सैन्यसुग्रीववाहनः ॥

Translation
"Mounting his golden, Garuda-bannered, swift chariot, equipped with mace, discus, sword, the bow Sharnga, and other weapons, on an auspicious day, under an auspicious star, and at an auspicious hour the lotus-eyed one set out, drawn by the horses Sainya and Sugriva."

Here the Lord's companions appear — His eternal weapons and the banner of Garuda. It is significant that the departure takes place in an auspicious conjunction of time: even He who rules over time honors a favorable hour, teaching people to align their affairs with the order of creation. Thus scripture shows Krishna's majestic departure; and the king himself takes up the reins of His horses.
