निवर्तयध्वं संहृष्टा ममैषा परमा मतिः ॥
यदि निर्जित्य वः पार्थो बलाद् गच्छेत् स्वकं पुरम् ॥
प्रणश्येद् वो यशः सद्यो न तु सान्त्वे पराजयः ॥

Here is spoken the wisdom of peace: "in conciliation there is no defeat." It is telling that Krishna calls for Arjuna to be brought back with tenderness rather than arms: to yield to love is no disgrace, while to lose in battle is dishonor. Here is shown the greater height of reconciliation over strife: peace preserves both honor and kinship. So Scripture reveals the Lord's peacemaking; and His counsel turns the storm into triumph.
