तथा बहुविधं कृष्णां विलपन्तीं धनंजयः ॥

Here the husband humbly submits before his wife's grievance. It is telling that Arjuna does not answer the reproach with anger, but "again and again asks forgiveness": a loving man heals jealousy not with rebuff but with gentleness. Here humility and tenderness quench a quarrel. So Scripture reveals Arjuna's gentleness of heart; and the discord of those who love is soothed by tenderness.
