न तथा गच्छति रथस् तपनस्य विशां पते ॥
नेन्द्रस्य न च रुद्रस्य नापि वैश्रवणस्य च ॥
नान्यस्य समरे राजन् गतपूर्वस् तथा रथः ॥
यथा ययाव् अर्जुनस्य मनोभिप्रायशीघ्रगः ॥

न अपि वैश्रवणस्य चna api vaiśravaṇasya canor even of Vaishravana [Kubera]; nor even of Kubera
न अन्यस्य समरे राजन्na anyasya samare rājannor of any other in battle, O king; nor of any other in battle, O sovereign
गतपूर्वः तथा रथःgatapūrvaḥ tathā rathaḥ[thus] no chariot had ever moved before; no chariot had moved before
यथा ययौ अर्जुनस्यyathā yayau arjunasyaas moved [the chariot] of Arjuna; as moved the chariot of Arjuna
मनोभिप्रायशीघ्रगःmanobhiprāyaśīghragaḥ[going] swift as a thought of the mind; swift as a thought of the mind
अनुवाद
Not thus does the chariot of the Sun move, O lord of the people, nor that of Indra, nor of Rudra, nor even of Vaishravana [Kubera]; nor has any other chariot ever moved so in battle, O king, as moved the chariot of Arjuna, swift as a thought of the mind.

Arjuna's chariot surpasses the chariots of the gods themselves — Surya, Indra, Rudra, Kubera: 'manobhiprāyaśīghragaḥ,' swift as a thought of the mind. It is significant that the cause lies not in the chariot but in the Charioteer: Krishna Himself drives it. The verse teaches that the Lord's presence raises the ordinary above the divine: a mortal's chariot, driven by God, surpasses the chariots of the celestials; and it is not the vehicle but the One who drives it that makes the devotee's path swifter than thought itself — for where the Lord is, every limit is transcended.
