देवनागरी
अनुविन्दस् तु गदया ललाटे मधुसूदनम् ॥
स्पृष्ट्वा नाकम्पयत् क्रुद्धो मैनाकम् इव पर्वतम् ॥
तस्यार्जुनः शरैः षड्भिर् ग्रीवां पादौ भुजौ शिरः ॥
निचकर्त स संछिन्नः पपाताद्रिचयो यथा ॥

अनुवाद
Anuvinda, in fury, struck Madhusudana [Krishna] on the forehead with his mace, but did not shake him, no more than [one shakes] Mount Mainaka. Arjuna then, with six arrows, cut through his neck, his two legs, his two arms, and his head; and he, thus cut apart, fell like a heap of rocks.

The blow of the mace on Krishna's forehead 'na akampayat… mainākam iva parvatam,' does not shake Him, as the wind does not shake Mount Mainaka. The Lord is invulnerable and unshakable. It is significant that Krishna, without even fighting, remains unmoved under the blow. The verse teaches that the Lord is unshakable: every blow against Him is as powerless as wind against a mountain; and whoever dares to strike God only reveals the futility of his own strength — for the Unshaken does not tremble, while the one who dared soon falls, as Anuvinda fell, a heap of rocks.
