पश्यन्तो रमणीयानि वनानि च सरांसि च ॥
तत्र तत्र वसन्तश् च शनैर् जग्मुर् महारथाः ॥
स्वाध्यायवन्तः शुचयो मधुराः प्रियवादिनः ॥
आनुपूर्व्येण संप्राप्ताः पाञ्चालान् कुरुनन्दनाः ॥

Here even royal men on the road preserve the bearing and character of ascetics. It is telling that they "study the Veda, are gentle, sweet of speech": even in hiding, the Pandavas do not feign wickedness but live in true piety. This is a sign that nobility is not a pose: their brahminical bearing is not a mere mask but the truth of their virtue. Thus the scripture shows that even on the road to their destiny they keep their purity; and their unhurried journey breathes peace, not haste.
