तच् छ्रुत्वा वासुदेवस्य तथा चक्रुर् जनाधिप ॥
निवृत्तश् चार्जुनस् तत्र विवाहं कृतवांस् ततः ॥
उषित्वा तत्र कौन्तेयः संवत्सरपराः क्षपाः ॥
पुष्करेषु ततः शिष्टं कालं वर्तितवान् प्रभुः ॥
पूर्णे तु द्वादशे वर्षे खाण्डवप्रस्थम् आविशत् ॥
tac chrutvā vāsudevasya tathā cakrur janādhipa ||
nivṛttaś cārjunas tatra vivāhaṃ kṛtavāṃs tataḥ ||
uṣitvā tatra kaunteyaḥ saṃvatsaraparāḥ kṣapāḥ ||
puṣkareṣu tataḥ śiṣṭaṃ kālaṃ vartitavān prabhuḥ ||
pūrṇe tu dvādaśe varṣe khāṇḍavaprastham āviśat ||
"Hearing that word of Vasudeva, they did just so; and Arjuna, having turned back, then performed the marriage there; having stayed there through nights until the year's end, that lord then spent the remaining time in Pushkara; and when the twelfth year was complete, he entered Khandavaprastha."

Here the Lord's word resolves everything for the good. It is telling that the Yadavas obey Krishna at once, and strife turns into a marriage: where the Lord was heeded, enmity became kinship. It is also telling that Arjuna fully kept out his twelve-year vow. Here is the fruit of obedience to the Lord. So Scripture reveals a happy outcome; and Arjuna, faithful to his vow, returns home.
