Here names still sound today in the names of Vedic schools and Upanishads — Nachiketa, Katha, Shandilya. It is significant that living wisdom is not nameless: it flows through the faces and lineages of teachers. So the scripture shows that tradition is upheld not abstractly but in a succession of masters; and further on it is told what manner of men they all were.
