Here the palace opens not with a ruler's feast but with the feeding of brahmins and with generosity. It is significant that the first act in the new hall is giving, not enjoyment: a righteous kingdom begins every undertaking with reverence for the wise and care for others. So the scripture shows what consecrates a dwelling; and further on the hall fills with song and worship of the gods.
