For the Pandavas, dwelling there in that great kingdom populated by good folk, joy grew ever without end; when Bhishma and the king had established the rule of dharma, the Pandavas became the residents of Khandavaprastha; endowed with those five great archers resembling Indra, that best of cities shone, as Bhogavati shines with serpents.

Here the kingdom is crowned by the establishment of dharma and by common happiness. It is significant that the joy of the Pandavas "grew ever without end" once justice was established: where dharma rules, happiness is lasting. In this is a lesson: prosperity flows from the righteousness of rulers. Thus the scripture reveals the flourishing of Indraprastha under the hand of the five heroes; and their city shines like an abode of the gods.
