The list goes on, and almost every name here is a book we have read. Kauṣītakī is fourteenth in our count; it was spoken of specially, for GRETIL does not give it and its text had to be checked against two witnesses. Subāla — fifteenth: the one where everything is Nārāyaṇa, and the division into sixty-seven paragraphs had to be established ourselves.
Mantrikā, also Cūlikā — twenty-first: the one where the fifth and fifteenth verses turned out to be exactly Śvetāśvatara. Tāpanī here is Nṛsiṃha-tāpanī, twenty-third, the largest of the tāpanīs. That is, this list is now for us a table of contents of the work done; and this feeling — recognizing in a list what has been read — is, I think, the best reward for long reading.
Add what is worth noting of Maitrāyaṇī. It is not in our collection under this name: it is known as the Maitrī-upaniṣad, one of the oldest and most extensive. It was cited at Śāṭyāyani (3), where the verse yac-cittas tan-mayo bhavati turned out to be its own verse (6.34); and it was spoken of too at Varāha.
Add too Kṣurikā, «razor»: a book named for the instrument by which attachment is cut off; and this name, I think, is among the finest in the collection.
