सुभद्रां त्वरमाणश् च रक्तकौशेयवाससम् ॥
पार्थः प्रस्थापयाम् आस कृत्वा गोपालिकावपुः ॥
साधिकं तेन रूपेण शोभमाना यशस्विनी ॥
भवनं श्रेष्ठम् आसाद्य वीरपत्नी वराङ्गना ॥
ववन्दे पृथुताम्राक्षी पृथां भद्रा यशस्विनी ॥
subhadrāṃ tvaramāṇaś ca raktakauśeyavāsasam ||
pārthaḥ prasthāpayām āsa kṛtvā gopālikāvapuḥ ||
sādhikaṃ tena rūpeṇa śobhamānā yaśasvinī ||
bhavanaṃ śreṣṭham āsādya vīrapatnī varāṅganā ||
vavande pṛthutāmrākṣī pṛthāṃ bhadrā yaśasvinī ||
"And Subhadra, hastily, in a red silken garment, Partha sent to Draupadi, having given her the appearance of a cowherd woman; shining still more with that appearance, renowned, having reached the finest palace, the hero's wife, of beautiful form, bowed — the large, red-eyed, renowned Bhadra — before Pritha."

Here the princess humbly enters the household in plain attire. It is telling that Subhadra comes "in the appearance of a cowherd woman" and bows first of all to her mother-in-law: a new wife enters the house not through the pride of high birth but through humility. Here humility adorns more than finery — hence she "shines still more." So Scripture reveals Subhadra's good conduct; and her meekness will disarm jealousy.
