एकवर्षान्तरास् त्व् एव द्रौपदेया यशस्विनः ॥
अन्वजायन्त राजेन्द्र परस्परहिते रताः ॥
जातकर्माण्य् आनुपूर्व्याच् चूडोपनयनानि च ॥
चकार विधिवद् धौम्यस् तेषां भरतसत्तम ॥
कृत्वा च वेदाध्ययनं ततः सुचरितव्रताः ॥
जगृहुः सर्वम् इष्वस्त्रम् अर्जुनाद् दिव्यमानुषम् ॥
देवगर्भोपमैः पुत्रैर् व्यूढोरस्कैर् महाबलैः ॥
अन्विता राजशार्दूल पाण्डवा मुदम् आप्नुवन् ॥
ekavarṣāntarās tv eva draupadeyā yaśasvinaḥ ||
anvajāyanta rājendra parasparahite ratāḥ ||
jātakarmāṇy ānupūrvyāc cūḍopanayanāni ca ||
cakāra vidhivad dhaumyas teṣāṃ bharatasattama ||
kṛtvā ca vedādhyayanaṃ tataḥ sucaritavratāḥ ||
jagṛhuḥ sarvam iṣvastram arjunād divyamānuṣam ||
devagarbhopamaiḥ putrair vyūḍhoraskair mahābalaiḥ ||
anvitā rājaśārdūla pāṇḍavā mudam āpnuvan ||
With an interval of one year between them, the glorious sons of Draupadi were born one after another, devoted to each other's welfare. The birth rites in due order, the tonsure, and the sacred-thread investiture, Dhaumya performed for them as prescribed. And having completed their study of the Vedas, being of good conduct and firm in their vows, they took up from Arjuna every missile weapon, divine and human. Blessed with such sons, like children of the gods, broad-chested and mighty, the Pandavas, O tiger among kings, found joy.

Here the offspring of the Pandavas are raised in dharma and mutual accord. It is significant that Draupadi's sons are 'devoted to each other's welfare,' just as their fathers were: good-hearted unity is inherited. Significant too is the care given to their rites, learning, and vows: the pious raise their children in dharma. Here a good line is continued through good upbringing. So the scripture shows forth the flourishing of the Pandavas in their offspring; and their joy is the fruit of dharma.
