Yudhishthira met with Rama according to custom; smelling Keshava's head, he embraced him with his arm; that joyful Yudhishthira Krishna honored with humility; and Bhima, tiger among men, he duly honored in return; and those best of the Vrishnis and Andhakas the King of Dharma received with honors, as was fitting and as befitted each; some he honored as elders, some as equals, to some he spoke with love, and by some he himself was greeted.

Here the Lord himself shows humility in his conduct. It is telling that Krishna honors Yudhishthira "with humility," while Yudhishthira in turn renders each his due: mutual respect, precisely measured, is the foundation of good order. Here are seen both the Lord's courtesy and Yudhishthira's discerning honor. Thus the scripture shows a model of conduct, and each is given what befits him.
