को हि जानन्न् अभिजनम् आत्मनः क्षत्रियो नृप ॥
नाविशेत् स्वर्गम् अतुलं रणानन्तरम् अव्ययम् ॥
स्वर्गं ह्य् एव समास्थाय रणयज्ञेषु दीक्षिताः ॥
यजन्ते क्षत्रिया लोकांस् तद् विद्धि मगधाधिप ॥

ko hi jānann abhijanam ātmanaḥ kṣatriyo nṛpa ||
nāviśet svargam atulaṃ raṇānantaram avyayam ||
svargaṃ hy eva samāsthāya raṇayajñeṣu dīkṣitāḥ ||
yajante kṣatriyā lokāṃs tad viddhi magadhādhipa ||

Translation

“For what kshatriya, knowing his own lineage, O king, would not enter the incomparable, imperishable heaven after death in battle? Kshatriyas, having set their minds on heaven, consecrated in the sacrifices of battle, sacrifice [themselves] and thereby win [higher] worlds — know this, O lord of Magadha.”
