Among these events is the Pandavas' first meeting with Lord Krishna (darśana keśavasya): from now on He will be their unseen helmsman. Draupadi's marriage is called "divinely ordained and superhuman" (deva-vihita, amānuṣa): the tale of the five Indras explains that her union with the five brothers is no human willfulness but the fulfillment of a higher design; Draupadi is a great devotee whose life is arranged by the Lord. Thus behind these outwardly extraordinary events stands divine providence, and Krishna's arrival marks the beginning of the guidance by which He will lead the Pandavas to the triumph of dharma.
