एषा ह्य् अनर्हती बाला पाण्डवान् प्राप्य कौरवैः ॥
त्वत्कृते क्लिश्यते क्षुद्रैर् नृशंसैर् निकृतिप्रियैः ॥
अस्याः कृते मन्युर् अयं त्वयि राजन् निपात्यते ॥
बाहू ते संप्रधक्ष्यामि सहदेवाग्निम् आनय ॥

Translation
[Bhima, addressing his elder brother:] "This blameless princess, having obtained the Pandavas as husbands, is now tormented, because of you, by base, cruel men who delight in deceit. For her sake this wrath, O king, falls upon you: I will burn your arms — Sahadeva, bring fire!"

Bhima is ready to give to the fire the very hands that cast the dice — not out of rebellion, but out of anguish, unable to bear the sight of her disgrace. Here the terrible force of brotherly love turned into pain reveals itself: the one who served Yudhishthira most faithfully now threatens him for the sake of the innocent. The verse teaches that silent connivance with evil can tear apart even the strongest bonds, and that loyalty to an elder must not stifle the cry of conscience. Yet even in this very outburst there is service to dharma, for Bhima's anger is an echo of the same justice that was trampled in the assembly.
