विचेताः परमोद्विग्नो धृष्टद्युम्नम् अवेक्ष्य च ॥
योद्धुं नाशक्नुवद् राजन् यथापूर्वम् अरिंदम ॥
तं दृष्ट्वा परमोद्विग्नं शोकोपहतचेतसम् ॥
पाञ्चालराजस्य सुतो धृष्टद्युम्नः समाद्रवत् ॥
य इष्ट्वा मनुजेन्द्रेण द्रुपदेन महामखे ॥
लब्धो द्रोणविनाशाय समिद्धाद् धव्यवाहनात् ॥
स धनुर् जैत्रम् आदाय घोरं जलदनिस्वनम् ॥
दृढज्यम् अजरं दिव्यं शरांश् चाशीविषोपमान् ॥

labdho droṇavināśāya samiddhād dhavyavāhanāt ||
sa dhanur jaitram ādāya ghoraṃ jaladanisvanam ||
dṛḍhajyam ajaraṃ divyaṃ śarāṃś cāśīviṣopamān ||

अनुवाद

Lost, utterly troubled, and glancing at Dhrishtadyumna, [Drona] could no longer fight as before, O subduer of foes, O king. Seeing him utterly troubled, struck down by grief, the son of the king of the Panchalas, Dhrishtadyumna, rushed forward — he whom Drupada, through a great sacrificial rite, had obtained from the kindled sacrificial fire for Drona's destruction. He, having taken up the victorious bow, terrible, with the rumble of a storm cloud, firm-stringed, imperishable, divine, and arrows resembling serpents...
