उत्तरेण तु कैलासं मैनाकं पर्वतं प्रति ॥
हिरण्यशृङ्गो भगवान् महामणिमयो गिरिः ॥
रम्यं बिन्दुसरो नाम यत्र राजा भगीरथः ॥
दृष्ट्वा भागीरथीं गङ्गाम् उवास बहुलाः समाः ॥
यत्रेष्ट्वा सर्वभूतानाम् ईश्वरेण महात्मना ॥
आहृताः क्रतवो मुख्याः शतं भरतसत्तम ॥

uttareṇa tu kailāsaṃ mainākaṃ parvataṃ prati ||
hiraṇyaśṛṅgo bhagavān mahāmaṇimayo giriḥ ||
ramyaṃ bindusaro nāma yatra rājā bhagīrathaḥ ||
dṛṣṭvā bhāgīrathīṃ gaṅgām uvāsa bahulāḥ samāḥ ||
yatreṣṭvā sarvabhūtānām īśvareṇa mahātmanā ||
āhṛtāḥ kratavo mukhyāḥ śataṃ bharatasattama ||

Translation

Vaishampayana said: "To the north of Kailasa, near Mount Mainaka, stands Hiranyashringa — the lordly mountain of great jewels; there is the beautiful lake named Bindusaras, where King Bhagiratha, having beheld the Ganga of Bhagiratha, dwelt for many years; where the lord of all beings, the great soul, performed a hundred chief sacrifices, O best of the Bharatas."
