वैशंपायन उवाच
एवम् उक्तास् तु ते तेन राज्ञा राजीवलोचन ॥
इदम् ऊचुर् वचः काले धर्मात्मानं युधिष्ठिरम् ॥
अर्हस् त्वम् असि धर्मज्ञ राजसूयं महाक्रतुम् ॥
अथैवम् उक्ते नृपताव् ऋत्विग्भिर् ऋषिभिस् तथा ॥
मन्त्रिणो भ्रातरश् चास्य तद् वचः प्रत्यपूजयन् ॥

vaiśaṃpāyana uvāca
evam uktās tu te tena rājñā rājīvalocana ||
idam ūcur vacaḥ kāle dharmātmānaṃ yudhiṣṭhiram ||
arhas tvam asi dharmajña rājasūyaṃ mahākratum ||
athaivam ukte nṛpatāv ṛtvigbhir ṛṣibhis tathā ||
mantriṇo bhrātaraś cāsya tad vacaḥ pratyapūjayan ||

Translation

Vaishampayana said: "Thus addressed by that king, O lotus-eyed one [Janamejaya], they spoke in due time this word to the righteous-souled Yudhishthira: 'Worthy are you, O knower of dharma, of the Rajasuya, the great sacrifice'; and when this was said to the king by the priests and the sages, his counselors and his brothers approved that word."
