संचिन्तयसि धर्मार्थौ याम उत्थाय पश्चिमे ॥
कच्चिद् दर्शयसे नित्यं मनुष्यान् समलंकृतान् ॥
उत्थाय काले कालज्ञः सह पाण्डव मन्त्रिभिः ॥
कच्चिद् रक्ताम्बरधराः खड्गहस्ताः स्वलंकृताः ॥
अभितस् त्वाम् उपासन्ते रक्षणार्थम् अरिंदम ॥

saṃcintayasi dharmārthau yāma utthāya paścime ||
kaccid darśayase nityaṃ manuṣyān samalaṃkṛtān ||
utthāya kāle kālajñaḥ saha pāṇḍava mantribhiḥ ||
kaccid raktāmbaradharāḥ khaḍgahastāḥ svalaṃkṛtāḥ ||
abhitas tvām upāsante rakṣaṇārtham ariṃdama ||

कच्चित् रक्त-अम्बर-धराः खड्ग-हस्ताः सु-अलंकृताःkaccit rakta-ambara-dharāḥ khaḍga-hastāḥ su-alaṃkṛtāḥI hope that, clad in red garments, swords in hand, well adorned,
अभितः त्वाम् उपासन्ते रक्षण-अर्थम् अरिंदमabhitaḥ tvām upāsante rakṣaṇa-artham ariṃdamathey stand about you on every side for your protection, O conqueror of enemies?

"I hope that, having slept through the first two watches of the night, O lord of the people, in the last watch you rise and ponder dharma and artha? I hope that, rising at the proper hour, a knower of time, you show yourself to the people together with your counselors, [yourself] handsomely adorned, O Pandava? I hope that [guards] clad in red, swords in hand, well adorned, stand about you on every side for your protection, O conqueror of enemies?".
