निष्कलाय विमोहाय शुद्धायाशुद्धवैरिणे ।
अद्वितीयाय महते श्रीकृष्णाय नमो नमः

After verses full of detail — the flute, the earrings, the hill — come suddenly the abstract definitions of Vedānta. And this is not a lapse in the hymn but its design: He whose earrings sway is the "partless one without a second".
Niṣkala — "partless", not put together out of portions. In the Upaniṣads this word is applied to Brahman; in the Śvetāśvatara it stands in the most solemn place. Here it is said of Him who lifted a hill on His little finger.
Vimoha — "free of delusion": the beguilement in which we live does not touch Him. Śuddha — "pure", and beside it aśuddha-vairin — "enemy of impurity": not only pure Himself but at war with the impure.
Advitīya — "without a second": the famous formula of the Chāndogya, "one without a second". Thereby the whole teaching of Brahman's uniqueness is brought into the hymn — and brought in as one of Kṛṣṇa's names.
So the Upaniṣad shows once more what its whole first part is occupied with: the philosophy of Vedānta and the village love of a cowherd have one subject.
