यामिमां पुष्पितां वाचं प्रवदन्त्यविपश्चितः ।
वेदवादरताः पार्थ नान्यदस्तीति वादिनः ॥
कामात्मानः स्वर्गपरा जन्मकर्मफलप्रदाम् ।
क्रियाविशेषबहुलां भोगैश्वर्यगतिं प्रति ॥

yām imāṁ puṣpitāṁ vācaṁ pravadanty avipaścitaḥ |
vedavādaratāḥ pārtha nānyad astīti vādinaḥ ||

जन्मकर्मफलप्रदाम्janma-karma-phala-pradām[speeches] granting (pradām) a good birth (janma) as the fruit (phala) of action (karma).
क्रियाविशेषबहुलाम्kriyā-viśeṣa-bahulām[speeches] abounding (bahulām) in elaborate rituals (kriyā-viśeṣa).
भोगैश्वर्यगतिम्bhoga-aiśvarya-gatim[speeches leading] to the attainment (gatim) of enjoyment (bhoga) and wealth (aiśvarya).

Translation
“O Pārtha, people of insufficient knowledge utter these flowery speeches. They cling to the letter of the Vedas and declare that there is nothing higher than this. (42) Their souls are full of worldly desires; heaven is their highest goal. Their speeches, abounding in elaborate rituals, promise a good rebirth as the fruit of action and lead to the attainment of material enjoyment and wealth. (43)”
