सञ्जय उवाच ।
तं तथा कृपयाविष्टमश्रुपूर्णाकुलेक्षणम् ।
विषीदन्तमिदं वाक्यमुवाच मधुसूदनः ॥

Transliteration (IAST)

sañjaya uvāca |
taṁ tathā kṛpayāviṣṭam aśrupūrṇākulekṣaṇam |
viṣīdantam idaṁ vākyam uvāca madhusūdanaḥ ||

विषीदन्तम्viṣīdantamgrieving, sunk in dejection.
इदम्idamthis, the following.

मधुसूदनःmadhusūdanaḥMadhusūdana (Krishna, the slayer of the demon Madhu).
Translation

Sañjaya said: “Then Madhusūdana [Krishna] spoke these words to Arjuna, who was so overcome with compassion and grief, his eyes filled with tears and clouded with sorrow.”
