भोगैश्वर्यप्रसक्तानां तयापहृतचेतसाम् ।
व्यवसायात्मिका बुद्धिः समाधौ न विधीयते ॥
Transliteration (IAST)
bhogaiśvaryaprasaktānāṁ tayāpahṛtacetasām |
vyavasāyātmikā buddhiḥ samādhau na vidhīyate ||
Word-by-word

भोगैश्वर्यप्रसक्तानाम्bhoga-aiśvarya-prasaktānāmfor those who are too attached (prasaktānām) to enjoyment (bhoga) and wealth (aiśvarya).
तयाtayāby those [speeches].
अपहृतचेतसाम्apahṛta-cetasāmfor those whose minds (cetas) are carried away (apahṛta).
व्यवसायात्मिकाvyavasāya-ātmikāresolute, one-pointed.
बुद्धिःbuddhiḥintelligence, will, resolve.
समाधौsamādhauin samādhi (in concentration on the Supreme), in divine consciousness.
न विधीयतेna vidhīyateis not established, does not arise, does not occur.
Translation
“For those who are too attached to worldly enjoyment and wealth, whose minds are carried away by these [flowery] speeches, the resolute determination to fix the mind on the Supreme [to attain samādhi] never arises.”
