आपूर्यमाणमचलप्रतिष्ठं
समुद्रमापः प्रविशन्ति यद्वत् ।
तद्वत्कामा यं प्रविशन्ति सर्वे
स शान्तिमाप्नोति न कामकामी ॥

Transliteration (IAST)

āpūryamāṇam acalapratiṣṭhaṁ
samudram āpaḥ praviśanti yadvat |
tadvat kāmā yaṁ praviśanti sarve
sa śāntim āpnoti na kāmakāmī ||

“Just as the ocean, remaining unmoved within its bounds, is constantly filled by the rivers flowing into it, so too the one into whom all manner of desires enter without stirring him attains peace — not the one who craves the fulfillment of those desires.”
