यावानर्थ उदपाने सर्वतः सम्प्लुतोदके ।
तावान्सर्वेषु वेदेषु ब्राह्मणस्य विजानतः ॥
Transliteration (IAST)
yāvān artha udapāne sarvataḥ samplutodake |
tāvān sarveṣu vedeṣu brāhmaṇasya vijānataḥ ||

तावान्tāvānjust so much.
सर्वेषुsarveṣuin all.
वेदेषुvedeṣuin the Vedas.
ब्राह्मणस्यbrāhmaṇasyafor the brāhmaṇa (one who has realized Brahman).
विजानतःvijānataḥfor one who possesses true knowledge, for the enlightened.
Translation
“Whatever benefit can be drawn from a small well can just as easily be found in a great reservoir. Likewise, one who has realized the highest purpose of the Vedas has already gained all that they can offer on their lower levels.”
