Here two stand unshaken before the fury of many. Telling is the comparison to a mountain: before the storm of royal wrath the brothers do not move -- the fearlessness of the righteous does not waver even before numbers. Telling too is the pretext the kings seek: 'even a brahmin may be killed in battle' -- anger finds a loophole even in law, in order to raise a hand against a supposed brahmin. Here is the steadfastness of defenders and the cunning of malice. Thus the verse shows that truth stands like a mountain, while wrong seeks its own justifications.
