The first words are from the Chāndogya: sarvaṃ khalv idaṃ brahma, “all this truly is Brahman”. One of the great sayings.
Here it is cited with a conclusion: therefore there is no mind as anything separate.
The logic is direct. If all is Brahman, then what we call the mind is He; consequently a separate mind standing over against Him does not exist.
The word akṣata — “unimpaired, uncleft”. Brahman is not divided into pieces of which one would be “my mind”.
Note how this completes the chapter's whole work. First the mind was the cause of the worlds, then the weaver of the phantasm, then a patient, then a noose, then a boat — and now at last it does not exist at all, because there is nothing besides Him.
In the Chāndogya this saying has a continuation worth remembering: “let a man worship it in tranquillity”. All is He — and therefore one should not dissolve into the reasoning, but revere.
