ईप्सितानीप्सिते न स्तो यस्यान्तर्वर्तिदृष्टिषु सुषुप्तवद्यश्चरति स जीवन्मुक्त उच्यते

Translation
“In whose inward-turned gazes there is neither wished-for nor unwished-for, and who moves as in deep sleep — he is called liberated while living.”

The second verbatim repetition from the second chapter: this is verse 2.46.
The book brings back the marks of the liberated one by one, and this is its way of summing up.
Note that of the twenty-one, precisely those are repeated which speak of the inward gaze and of lightness.
All that was said at 2.46 stands: the likeness to deep sleep lies in the absence of the division into needed and unneeded, not in insensibility.
He walks. A sleeper does not walk.
The repetition shows, moreover, that Janaka's teaching and Ṛbhu's are one. Two conversations, different pupils, different ages — and the same words.
